Note: Grandmother Erie Catharine Taylor when she was young and beautiful. This is from the small oval-shaped picture she gave at least some of her children with a little braid of her almost-black hair around it (very popular in Victorian times). I (Doris Ross Johnston) had Mother's photo copied and Aunt Myrtle (Voy Wilks's wife) to hand tint it. I've always thought Myrl (her youngest daughter) looked so much like her.

Erie Catharine Taylor Wilks
Erie Catharine Taylor Wilks
Note: Grandmother Erie Catharine Taylor when she was young and beautiful. This is from the small oval-shaped picture she gave at least some of her children with a little braid of her almost-black hair around it (very popular in Victorian times). I (Doris Ross Johnston) had Mother's photo copied and Aunt Myrtle (Voy Wilks's wife) to hand tint it. I've always thought Myrl (her youngest daughter) looked so much like her.

Note: This picture is one of my [Barbara D. McLean Corner] favorite pictures of Papa (William Wesley Wilks) and Grandmother (Erie Catharine Wilks). It had the date of 1925 on the back of the picture and if I am not mistaken it was taken beside their half-dugout home.
