Letter from Reta Wilks Ross to Myrl Wilks McLean dated August 7, 1992: "Once before Uncle Asa died I took mama to Hamilton in Charlies Rosses car. We all ate Sunday dinner together Asas. When I said we must start home mama said 'I'd like to hear Binum pray again.' We'd gotten into the car. Well out in their front yard the men all knelt and he lead a long prayer. He did not live long after that. I'll always remember that. Aunt Manda and Binum always went to the main church in Hamilton. Asa and Bertha went to the non SS 1 cup church. I think Everett went nowhere to church. Allen and Olevia went to what is now Park Heights C. of C." |
