Note
Robert Taylor, planter, of Gunpowder River, for 1000 pounds of tobacco, a deed conveying to Joseph Peircey, carpenter, of Back River, the 100-acre tract "Taylor's Delight," on the east side of Gunpowder River. Witnesses: John Taylor, John Waterton. How did Taylor's Delight come into possession of Francis Taylor later? Did he inherit it? Or was this a lease which was released back to Robert Taylor? |
Note
"His father was Francis Taylor I. who got a land patent in St. Mary's Co., MD, in 1684. I suspect Francis was the son of Robert Taylor of Baltimore Co., planter, who got a land patent in 1672 on the Gunpowder River, named Taylor's Delight, which a John Taylor witnessed, and Francis Taylor I later owned. John and Thomas Taylor may have been other sons. I got someone to search the patents in Annapolis, MD (State Archives), but I need to search more on Robert."
